The municipality of Massaranduba, located in the Agreste region of Paraíba state, lies along the PB-079 highway, approximately 130 km from the state capital, João Pessoa. Its area of 60.8 km² (IBGE/2022) borders the municipalities of Campina Grande, Barra de Santana, Lagoa Seca, Alagoa Nova, Matinhas, and Puxinanã.
According to IBGE, its population is 14,878 inhabitants. Massaranduba is a small but culturally and economically significant town, known for its strong agricultural sector, especially sugarcane-derived products such as artisanal cachaça, molasses, and rapadura — a tradition dating back to the sugarcane cycle in the region.
Inserted in the Caatinga biome, with patches of Atlantic Forest in higher areas, Massaranduba features beautiful natural landscapes, including hills, valleys, and freshwater streams. The town is known for its welcoming people and traditional festivities, such as the Feast of its patron saint Saint Sebastian and the São João celebrations. It also holds potential for developing tourism activities such as: (1) ecotourism; (2) rural tourism; (3) cultural and leisure tourism.
